Join us for our community meal and conversation immediately following worship on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at The University Church, 4747 Hill Avenue in Toledo (on the south side of Hill Avenue between Richards Road and Reynolds Road). Worship begins at 6:00 p.m.

In our journey through the Acts of the Apostles we next encounter Saul on the Damascus Road where he has an unusual experience that changes his entire life.  He becomes a devoted follower of the Way (in today’s language, a “Christian”) and spends the rest of his life carrying the good news throughout the Mediterranean Basin.  We’ll ask ourselves what it means to say that one is a Christian. Do you have to believe certain doctrines? Do you have to engage in specific acts of service?  Must you participate in a given number of rites and rituals of the church?  What was Saul’s experience and how can that help us to see past potential barriers and restrictions?

This Sunday, music will be led by Matt Cook and our praise team. Communion will be served and everyone is invited to stay for our community meal immediately following worship.  See you there!
