What’s the best way to get involved?
Getting involved with the life of the community means taking a chance and plunging in! What are your unique gifts and talents and how could you use them to help bring about the future that Jesus described as “the Kingdom of God”? Jesus spoke of feeding the hungry, caring for those who cannot care for themselves and acting on behalf of the oppressed.
At The University Church we see ourselves as a community with a conscience. If we speak about feeding the hungry then that had better be reflected in our actions – and it is. When we talk about caring for those who cannot care for themselves, those hadn’t better be just empty words – and they are not. When we are outraged by oppression in the world, we expect that outrage to be turned into action – and it is.
Ella, who is part of our church family, talks here about getting involved and why that matters:
If you see yourself as someone who could be part of the vision that Ella describes, please come and visit The University Church and join us in making real the Kingdom of God here in this place.
Join us for Bible Study at the church on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Table Talk is our theology discussion group which meets on Thursdays, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. for coffee, cookies and conversation. We focus on theology and discuss books, movies, manuscripts and sometimes just questions that we have. All opinions are respected and everyone is heard. Come and learn with us.
We have an active ministry centered on physical fitness and sports. You can find about more about how to get involved here:
