Reynolds Elementary School Hub Director Supports Mental Health

Along with his team of faculty, staff, and parents, our Reynolds Elementary School Hub Director, Andrew, is working hard to support mental health in our community.

On March 25, 2021, the Reynolds Guidance Counselor and Hub Team will lead a virtual mental health night for the students and families of Reynolds Elementary School. This pioneering event will feature hands-on training, practical advice, and plenty of community resources.

As part of the Guidance Counselor and Hub Team’s comprehensive plan to support the work of the Reynolds teachers and staff, the Hub Team recently kicked off a program of daily mental health support. Recognizing that March is typically a difficult month in school, the team introduced resources that add joy, relieve stress, and that are accessible. On each day of the month of March teachers are offered a different mindfulness exercise. From breathing, to gratitude, to micro-meditations, the exercises are designed to be short and scalable for optional classroom use. Whenever a teacher personally participates in an exercise, he or she is entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of March, adding a bit of motivation and fun to the whole experience.

We are grateful to Andrew and his team and for their diligent efforts to support our community. Thank you for all that you do.
