Sunday, October 3, 2010 – worship at The University Church: 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Do you remember Dana Carvey on Saturday Night Live impersonating George Bush Sr. with his infamous, “Not gonna do it. Wouldn’t be prudent!”?

The Biblical narrative has thoughts on prudence too – and that is what we’ll be thinking about at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Prudence is all about making the best decisions in any given set of circumstances. Wouldn’t it be good if we could work out how to make that second nature!

Then, at 6:00 p.m., we’ll be following the Apostle Paul from Athens to Corinth and thinking about his vision in which God calls to him: Do not be afraid … Do not be silent … For I am with you. Maybe that’s a message we need to hear today as well. Too often we might be afraid and silent when what is really needed is a voice to bravely speak out.

Come and explore with us at The University Church!  Fair-trade tea, coffee and cocoa is always available before church and you are invited to join us for Afterglow! immediately following worship as we gather at a local restaurant to eat together and continue the conversation.  Great music led by Matt Cook and Ronnie Lindsey. All are welcome.
