Our morning sermon series on Virtues will this week encounter Temperance and we will examine the difficult question of self control.
In our evening sermon series, After Jesus, we continue our journey through The Acts of the Apostles and follow Paul from Ephesus to Troas where a young man falls asleep as Paul preaches. If you’ve ever fallen asleep in church, you might feel some sympathy for this boy; especially as he fell from a window and killed himself! The story has a happy ending as Paul, in the tradition of the great prophets, like Elijah and Elisha, raises the boy from the dead in a scene that echoes the raising of Tabitha by Peter.
Come early to enjoy fair-trade tea, coffee and cocoa. Stay after our evening service for our community meal and conversation on being the church in the world today. All are welcome.
