What is Discord?
Discord is a co-creation tool. It is a place to share ideas, share things the children are excited about as well as things they are struggling with. It is also a great place to play together. It is a social interaction tool that facilitates group engagement so we can do life and theology together in these rapidly changing times.
The tool comes with auto image and word monitoring and censoring. Bots delete anything and everything inappropriate. There will be an area for gardening talk, gaming talk, theology talk, sharing pictures, games, joys from their weeks as well as things they struggle with. If the children and youth are excited about something, they can come talk about it and do not need to wait for Sunday to engage with mentors and friends.
Theology (our thoughts about God) is not done in a void. Understanding who God is and what God has to do with our lives means allowing the children and youth to bring their whole selves to the table. This tool allows them to do just that in a safe online environment.
